Police officers give YLLC-West students a tour of New West Nashville Precinct
January 24th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
YLLC-West students recently had the opportunity to visit the New West Nashville Precinct. Sgt. Chick and her staff gave students a tour of the precinct, where students received real insight into what it is like to be a law officer. Kids were even given a tour of a police vehicle! Later, students were able to see a patrol unit, were taught about bicycle safety, and even made their own finger prints.

It is critical to educate kids on safety and the law at an early age. Students a better sense of security with a personable, face-to-face visit with those who keep them safe. Moreover, the police department field trip gave them a new reason to make good, lawful, safe and responsible decisions, as they are likely to be exposed to some type of criminal behavior in their inner-city neighborhoods.
We are grateful that the officers at New West Nashville Precinct hosted and toured our students on their site. We thank you for serving our community and making all of us feel a lot safer.
